AUCTION OF TICKETS FOR NUCLEAR HIGH ROPES

Peter & Jackie Houlder have kindly given me a Nuclear High Ropes pass for 1 adult and 1 child to  be auctioned with proceeds going to the Chairman's Charity The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

This voucher can be used on a Saturday or Sunday and is worth £50.

I will start the auction at £20 and the highest bid received by Tuesday evening (23rd July) at 10pm will win the prize.

DAVE WOOLLEY'S FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

Dave Woolley's funeral will be held on Friday 26th July at 1.30pm at the Fenland Crematorium, Knights End Road, March PE15 0YJ

Donations are to go to the Arthur Rankin Hospice, more details to follow.

Could members please let John Mack know if they will be attending, so he can advise the family of numbers.


THE CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY RALLY:

We urgently need YOU to book onto the Chairman's Charity rally.

The Committee and I have worked hard to put, I believe, a really good programme together for all of you to enjoy.

You will have 2 nights professional entertainment, a bar, lots of competitions, a fete, brass band, a members band, a dog show, cream tea with a singer, canoe racing, dog obedience dem and plenty of food, pie & mash, a breakfast, burgers & hotdogs, seafood, roast pork rolls and lots more.

Latest news, we also have a Volvo tow car of the year present too

THE BOOKS MADE PAUL'S DAY

After carrying the books for nearly 10 years, Paul was pleased we had them with us this weekend on a South London rally, where we had a fantastic meal on the Bluebell Railway. I had a chuckle when I saw what he had done with them.

Dave Wakeling has sent me this photo to prove what can happen when you do not completely uncoil your cable when in use.


DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THE TOMBOLA STALL AT THE CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY RALLY

Do you have any unwanted Christmas gifts or raffle prizes or that bottle of drink or any new small items you no longer want. If so we would like them for the Tombola stall at the Chairman's Charity rally.

CARRY ON HENRY - 18th - 21st July 2019

Lance and Larraine would appreciate some more support for this rally otherwise they will have to cancel. Come along and meet King Henry and his jolly jesters and enjoy a banquet fit for a king on Saturday night.

I FOUND IT

Just a short note to let those members know, that attended the Stagger Back Again rally this weekend, that I did find my Chairman's badge. It turned up underneath Phil & Jeannette's step and was found as they picked up the step to return home.

A big thank you to everyone that helped look for it.

MORE SAD NEWS

I am afraid that I have more sad news and that is that Dave Woolley a Mid Anglia member (who was a past South Essex member) passed away yesterday Saturday 29th June.

Our condolences go to his family and once again I will advise you when more details are know.

It is with regret, that I have to advise you that Don Coffin passed away on Friday 28th June.

Condolences are sent to his wife Maureen and family and when more details are know, I will let you all know.


THE JUNE 200 CLUB DRAW

The June draw of the 200 Club took place today at Flagpole on the Stagger Back Again rally.

1st prize of £20 goes to the owner of number 98

2nd prize of £10 goes to the owner of number 83

3rd prize of £5 goes to the owner of number 142

Please note that the cost of Pink, Blue & Lavender toilet chemicals have increased by over 60p. However as from 1st July the cost of the increase to South Essex members will be 50p. Why not get yours now to beat the increase?

CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY BOOT SALE

For those of you bringing items to sell at the Chairman's Charity Rally boot sale, unfortunately we do not have the facilities to dispose of any unsold items so must ask if you could take these away with you. Your co-operation in this matter would be much appreciated.


EQUIPMENT THANK YOU AND REQUEST

Thank you to all the marshal's that have sent in their equipment request form, I have received more forms back than in any other year.

Now a request that marshal's check that they put the equipment back in the bags as they receive it. In particular the Centres marquees, roof, sides, ends and poles which need to be correctly placed  in bags which are marked for each piece.

All equipment used for rallies will get some wear and tear but if the equipment is worn or damaged and not reported to the Equipment Officer it will not be replaced or repaired. It could be you that requires it in the future for a rally, so please either email or ring any reports of damage to either myself or John Mack so action can be taken to rectify the problem.

CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY RALLY

Following another visit last week to Orsett Showground the programme for the rally is coming together, all we need is YOUR SUPPORT.

So far you will have a licensed bar (reasonable prices), 2 nights professional entertainment, a darts and archery competition, breakfast, handicrafts competitions, a children's workshop, a fete, brass band, a music band, roast pork rolls, sea food, a dog show, dog obedience demonstration, singers with a cream tea, canoe racing, games, a raffle and the return of the gunge tank and still more to come.

Please send your booking slips to Kevin Higgins, post dated cheques dated 15th July for £67.50 are accepted, or pass onto any Committee member.

MAY 200 CLUB DRAW:

The May draw of the 200 club took place Sunday at Flagpole at the Fishing at Blind Lane.

CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY (AUGUST) NEWSLETTER

It would be very much appreciated if you could send some photos and a write up of your experiences on any of the South Essex rallies you have been on or are going on this season.  It would be nice to help Glenn out in making our newsletters interesting and entertaining with your stories whether they be humorous or interesting. The cut-off date for the next newsletter is 14th August.  We  would love to hear from you. Send your articles to either Glenn (harperg1@sky.com) or to me, your webmaster.


CANCELLING

We have been advised by the Caravan & Motorhome Club, that we should have our cancellation policy shown on our web page, which is rule 2 shown in the rally book.

Cancelling: You may cancel at any time preferably by direct communication with the marshals or their assistants.  All cancellations received during the seven days preceding a rally and all non-arrivals will incur either a levy of £4.00 or the actual cost to the Centre whichever is the greater. This amount to be sent to the Treasurer within 28 days.  Non-payment may exclude you from further Centre events.


Chairman’s Charity Rally – AFTERNOON FETE

We want to hold a Saturday Afternoon Fete at the Chairman’s Charity Rally in August.  We would like to make it a fun afternoon with a real mix, have stalls selling items and some fun items, such as games, face painting etc.  I am sure there will also be food and drink around, though I hate to resort to bribery.

Please could you let us know if you would like to have a stall to sell your items or run a stall for us.   If anyone has any talent to do Face Painting, that would be great.   Any other ideas to make it a great afternoon would be greatly received.  We have such talented imaginative members, I am sure you will come up with wonderful ideas.

STORAGE:

For those on Dunton storage and are thinking’ of moving off because of price increase, there is a new caravan storage opening near the Five Bells roundabout. It has security gates, CCTV, 24hr security,and hard standing. The price is £600.00 per year. The name is Myrock (the old Cl Whitehall farm). Phone number 07903418780.

There will be room for approx 30 vans. It may prove useful to some so go and have a look.

ALTERATION TO RALLY MARSHAL'S DOCUMENTS

An amendment has been made to Rally Marshal's Documentation with regard to FM Tags and their price increase. Please be aware of this before costing your rally.

PLEASE BE AWARE:

Your South Essex Membership has to be renewed every year through the Caravan and Motorhome Club guaranteeing your continued membership of the member webpage. The user ID and password will soon be changing and you will need to be a current member to reapply for this information.

2019 AGM

Next years AGM will be on Sunday 20th October 2019 at Chelmer Valley High School. The AGM rally will run from Friday 18th -Sunday 20th October at the same venue.

We wanted the AGM rally to be held at one venue and as there will be a change of Chairman this usually means there is a larger amount of units on the rally, so because of this, the only choice of venue was Chelmer to accommodate everyone. The facilities are better too and more suitable for our needs..

The dates 4th-6th and 11th-13th October were unavailable, so that it is why the above dates have been chosen.

More details will be in 2019 rally book, but this is a notification for your diaries.

CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY

I am pleased to advise you, that following last weeks AGM, that the chosen Chairman's Charity to receive our fundraising for 2018/19 is the Essex Air Ambulance.

If marshals running rallies during this Charity year would like to raise funds by running raffles etc, it would be appreciated and after our Committee meeting next week, I will let you know who the Charity Officer will be.

RELAUNCH OF THE 200 CLUB

The 200 Club is being re-launched at the Hunstanton Hacienda rally for the Chairman's charity year.
